If you are doing something like fixing a shelf that is loose or
pulling a weed out of the ground with a hand shovel, you are actually using the simple machines! If you were fixing a shelf
that was loose, you probably used a screw to tighten it, which is a simple machine. If you pulled the weed out of the ground
with the shovel, you are using a different simple machines, the lever.

These machines are meant to help us out when we need help with something. They are very
useful because of the fact that they are "simple". Simple machines like the pulley, wedge, and screw can help make manual
labor that much easier while a simple machine like the wheel & axle help us in an important part of our job - transportation.
The simple machines are also used to help people that can't do certain things such as the inclined plane being used
